What We Do

The community volunteers get involved in a diverse range of things to Protect, Promote and Enhance the park for the benefit of the community and our visitors. Activities might include:

​

Protecting the park facilities and biodiversity from inappropriate development and usage.

​

Producing a Site Management Plan in preparation for Green Flag Community Award, It’s your Neighbourhood Assessment and Wales in Bloom.

​

Promoting the park and providing feedback to the local authorities and where appropriate local sponsors.

​

Organising and planning site activities involving grass cutting, planting bulbs, saplings, wildflowers, litter picking, conservational tasks, pathway maintenance and restoration of park timber furniture.

​

Pathway maintenance and restoration of the timber furniture.

 

Maintenance and restoration of onsite timber furniture.

Putting on local community events such as Family Fun Days, Dog Shows, litter picking and tidy ups in the park.

​

Producing and up-dating group website and social media platforms.

​

Fund raising, accessing grant funding and arranging social events.

​

Collecting local views about the park and what they would like to see happen.

​

Supplying and fitting of memorial plaques on bench seats at the park entrance.

​

Contributing to the management and park enhancement plans in collaboration with the local authorities and local sponsors.

​

Researching and recording the history of the area with photos.

​

Hold 6 to 12 meetings per year so we can talk to each other about the park inviting presentations about ecology and marine life.

​

Working in partnership with other voluntary groups on joint projects.
