Volunteering

The group volunteers are at the heart of improvements in the park. Without them much of what has been achieved since 2007 would not have been possible, whether it be site groundwork, planting, furniture provision & maintenance, litter picking and much more. The volunteers organise, plan and try to ensure that tools, protective clothing and other resources for the job are on hand when needed.

If you would like to spare us some of your time, please let us know as we would love to hear from you. There is no money in it of course, just satisfaction, a fantastic community spirit, the opportunity to meet new faces and plenty of fresh air. In exchange, we offer you a great welcome and excellent comradeship. Volunteering can also be a good way of developing new skills working alongside people with a diverse range of knowledge and experience.

Volunteer days in the park are Monday to Thursday inclusive and each session is usually two hours or less in the morning, weather permitting. Even two hours a week would be a valued contribution to the upkeep of your community park. Why not pop along and see what we do as you will always be guaranteed a warm welcome.

You might prefer to help the group raise funds and organise social events including the annual Family Fun Day. We would welcome any form of help you can provide as every little bit helps make a difference in the community. How about offering to help watering the plants/bushes on site during the hot weather.
